At the Albersloher Weg, one of the southern arterial roads of Münster, lies in front of the exhibition hall and beside the town house 3 a fallow parcel of land. Since 1989 it is planned to get an attractive "gateway" to the inner city by a corresponding development of the Albersloher Weg.

The conception deals with the implementation of this aim in form of a multistorey building. We studied historical, sociological and ecological aspects, urban influences ans necessary technical conditions.

High-rise buildings are mostly built for prestige purposes. By striving for ever greater heights, especially the static concept is a major challenge, closely followed by the infrastructure provision and technical services.

Beside the size of the area, especially these aspects influenced the form-finding process. Furthermore we had to consider the scale of the city.
